State of the Environment Reports (SoER)

According to the Constitution of the Slovak Republic - Article 45: "Every person shall have the right to full and timely information on the environmental situation, and reasons and consequences thereof".

According to legal enactment of the Slovak Republic the SR Ministry of the Environment has an obligation to work out the State of Environment Report every year.

These reports include facts about current state of environment, the causes and consequences of this state, such as data about the trends and environmental measures, including the international co-operation. The reports are published yearly, in printed as well as electronic form. They are issued by the SR Ministry of Environment in cooperation with the Slovak Environmental Agency.

One of environmental awareness raising possibilities for SR population is publishing the information brochures on environmental state and trends. Contrary to the State of Environment Reports of the Slovak Republic, the information brochures provides concentrated environmental information, with the aid of evaluation of so called main environmental indicators for individual components of the environment, for individual cumulative environmental problems, for chosen sectors of economic activities and for related environmental care instruments.
