Jamal Malik is a boy who was born into a world without future and into the poor surroundings of Mumbai’s slums. He is now sitting in a TV studio in front of the moderator of the Indian version of Who wants to be a millionaire and waiting for the last question which is separating him from winning the big prize. How did he manage to get this far? Someone more horrible than the moderator will try to find out the answer for this question. Before Jamal will get to the last question his time will run out and he has one day to prepare for it. But unfortunately the police will make sure that he hasn’t got any time to prepare and they want to find out - with the use of brutal force – how he cheated to get this far. Jamal will tell them the story of his life and the police will understand how he managed to know all the answers for the questions and also they will see that there is a more important reason to attend such a show than the big prize and the reason was to find the love of his life.
