How is the INSTRUMENT applied to solve City environmental problems?

The Legislative Power in the Slovak Republic is represented by the National Council of SR and within it the field of environment is co-ordinated by the Committee for Environment and Nature Protection.


Within the frame of executive power is functioning an independent Ministry of Environment. It plays a role of a sectional central body of state administration in the field of environment. Some of the partial issues of the care of environment belong to the scope of the Ministry of Health of SR, Ministry of Soil Management of SR, etc. An important sphere of action is taken by the Ministry of Interior Affairs of SR because it covers the activities of district and regional offices (1st and 2nd level of the execution of state administration mainly in the field of the protection of air, water, nature as well as waste management, building rules, etc.
